Scientist, Rids The World of the Evil Curse of the Vampires

With a full LP of tunes like “Your Teeth In My Neck,” “Ghost of Frankenstein,” and “Plague of Zombies” you could pretty much just let Scientist’s 1981 dub opus play straight through at any Halloween party. Scientist Rids the World of the Evil Curse of the Vampires is an album by the dub musician Scientist, originally released in 1981. He is a protégé of King Tubby, the dub specialist and a credited originator. On this album, Scientist keeps things lively with plenty of reverb and echo-treated percussion, ghostly piano parts, video game sound effects, and other various wobbly interjections from the mixing board. And here is the spookiest, most dubious claim made about the dub — Scientist mixed it all at midnight on Friday the 13th. Oooohhhh! Get out your flashlights and be on the lookout for duppies when you give this full LP a listen! Happy Halloween from the Milk Chocolat crew!
